Closing Thoughts
The
results of Tuesday's, November 6’s, election polling is a
tremendous disappointment. During the months of the campaign it is unthinkable
to consider defeat. Yet the results are finalized and I concede victory
to Teresa Benitez-Thompson. Congratulation to her on winning
the right to represent all of the citizens of Assembly District 27.
There is long
list of Thank you's that I wish to express. First and foremost , as always,
I thank my wife, Jane and my family for their sacrifices and support that
allowed me to embark on this campaign. I also thank the Washoe County
Republican Central Committee for giving me the opportunity to be your candidate
this year.
Special Thanks to the following people;
Tom Stamos, Our campaign Coordinator for all the work he has done;
Randy Lloyd for his tireless research
and keen insights;
Pat and Billie Shea for their uncompromising effort on
behalf of our website and social media; Bill Myers for his superb effort
working our precinct organization;
Dick Westrup and all of the volunteers
that walked every inch of this district with me;
Janie Lion for
her effort on behalf of our phone call volunteers;
Roger
Edwards, Gary Nielsen and Steve Somsen, Our sign task force, ;
Frank Brittain, Nick Grilli, Ken Koeppe
and others who researched and wrote background papers;
Those ardent individuals
who manned the campaign office, and all of the many other tasks that are
accomplished daily during a campaign.
I thank them all for the many
selfless hours they spent on this campaign.
My very deep
appreciation to all of our individual contributors who reached deeply into
their pocketbook to help finance the campaign. With the support of these
generous individuals the campaign was able to purchase the paper, ink, signs,
brochures, mailers, stamps, etc. needed to get out the message. To the Dyer’s
for their office space support. All of these things are possible when the
individual citizen steps up to support a candidate. Please continue your
support of your favorite candidates in the future.
I humbly thank
all of the Voters of Assembly District 27 that cast their vote in support to
me. I hope each individual continues to support the candidates who represent
responsible and representative government.
A
loss in an election is just that a single loss. I am not going away or
sulk in the corner. I am looking forward to serving the great State of
Nevada in whichever ways and means that I can. Many new ideas have been
presented during the campaign and since the election. Some of these need
advocacy.
I
will continue my activity in the many organizations to which I belong already.
The Republican
Men's Club of Northern Nevada meets the second Tuesday of every month at the
Atlantis. Our guest speakers present insights into the various political
and business activities that effect and affect our community and each of
us. We do not sidestep controversy in our speakers or their subjects.
Please continue in your effort to improve our
political arena. The Republican Party has numerous organizations that
contribute to forwarding responsible government. You can find a
list of all of the Washoe County Republican organizations at the link below.
Make it a point to visit one of these clubs during the remainder of this
year while the fervor of the election is still strong in your heart. They
all warmly welcome visitors to their meeting.

what we have.”
